Florida's new District Governor
Linda Skaathun, Kiwanis Club of Punta Gorda
On October 1 Linda Skaathun takes office as Governor of the Florida District of Kiwanis, after a year as Governor-Elect, and becomes the youngest Kiwanian to hold the post. The Lake Region is one of the clubs she will serve this year.

The Claus Mission
Santa visits children across the Lake Region, every letter written to Claus gets a reply, and the Claus workshop puts gifts under trees in homes that would otherwise go without.
Scholarships
Awards for local students heading to college or trade school, funded by the club and the community that supports it.
Flags Across the Boulevard
We place American made American flags across Lawrence Blvd. to show support for the country we love.

Everything we give away, we raise first
Concessions on a Friday night, a cornhole tournament, the pop-up kitchen at every festival within driving distance. None of it is glamorous and all of it turns into scholarships, grants and Christmas presents.

Fifth-Thursday evening socials when the month allows one. Visitors are welcome at any meeting - no need to call ahead.
